On July 15, the China-UAE Air Connectivity Forum was held in Beijing. The forum focused on implementing the consensus between the leaders of the two States, promoting the China-UAE cooperation of civil aviation in various fields and featuring in-depth exchanges. Deputy Administrator of CAAC Han Jun, the UAE ambassador to China Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, and Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi attended the forum and delivered speeches.
During the forum, representatives of airlines, airports and cargo airlines from China and the UAE exchanged views on the following topics “People Transportation — Passenger Travel Across Borders”, “Cargo Connectivity — Enhancing the Global Supply Chain”, “Aviation Hubs — Strengthening the Global Airport Network”, and had in-depth discussions on the complexity of travel, the dynamics of international air cargo and logistics, and the importance of airports in promoting international travel and trade.
Prior to the forum, CAAC Deputy Administrator Han Jun met with Hamadi and Suwaidi and held in-depth exchanges on further promoting China-UAE civil aviation cooperation. From July 16 to 17, the two sides held consultations on air traffic rights arrangements and on facilitating the operation of airlines, and signed a memorandum of understanding.
