On July 29, in the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping and President of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta, Administrator of CAAC Song Zhiyong, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste Bendito dos Santos Freitas signed the Air Services Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Beijing. The signing of the agreement will lay a legal foundation for building bilateral ties in civil aviation, facilitating the launching of air routes and flights by airlines, and promoting business cooperation between China and Timor-Leste, which will be conducive to the economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges of the two countries.
So far, China has signed inter-governmental air services agreements with 132 countries and regions.
