On December 6, Liang Nan, Deputy Administrator of CAAC, attended and delivered a speech at the reception commemorating the 80th anniversary of the International Civil Aviation Convention (hereinafter referred to as the Convention) jointly held by the Office of the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations Development System in China and the ICAO Asia and Pacific Regional Sub-Office. More than 70 people attended the reception, including diplomats from Asia Pacific countries stationed in China.
From November 1 to December 7, 1944, representatives from 52 countries including China, participated in the international conference held in Chicago and jointly signed the Convention on International Civil Aviation, which laid the foundation for the development of the international civil aviation industry. The principles, rules and international aviation standards enshrined in the Convention and its annexes are important references for the civil aviation legislation of various countries. At present, 193 countries have already ratified or joined the Convention.
