On December 17, the closing ceremony of the Second Phase of the China-EU Aviation Partnership Project (APP) was held at the EU Delegation to China. Representatives from relevant departments of CAAC, the EU Ambassador to China, and representatives from the EU Aviation Safety Agency, DG MOV of the European Commission, the EU Chamber of Commerce in China and Secretariat of the China-EU APP project attended the closing ceremony.
At the closing ceremony, China and EU reviewed the projects of the second phase and exchanged views on the new projects of the next phase. The two sides expressed that APP is a flagship project of China-EU cooperation and an important component of China-EU civil aviation relations. In the spirit of openness and cooperation, APP continuously deepened the understanding and collaboration between China and Europe, and constantly enhanced the management capacity and aviation safety on both sides. At present, the global civil aviation industry is faced with new opportunities and challenges, and China-EU APP has a broad market and a huge potential. China and the EU should further enhance cooperation, jointly address new risks and challenges and constantly promote innovation, so as to realize safe, orderly and sustainable development of the industry together. The two sides agreed to launch the third phase of the APP as soon as possible on the basis of original areas of cooperation, focusing on developing capacity and application of new technologies.
China-EU APP began in 2016 and has already completed two phases. 38 events were organized in the second phase of APP, with 4,596 participants, involving such topics as aviation safety, airworthiness certification, flight standards, air traffic management and green development.
