On May 26, Song Zhiyong, Administrator of CAAC, met with Victor Liu Chi-yung, Director-General of Civil Aviation Department (CAD) of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and Simon Li Tin-chui, President of the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy, along with their delegation in Beijing. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on leveraging their respective strength to integrate into the national development strategy, jointly maintaining high-level safety standards, and promoting high-quality development. They also explored ways to further cement these collaborations.
Following the meeting, CAAC and the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department signed a Letter of Intent on Strengthening Technical Exchanges and Collaboration in Civil Aviation Safety Oversight and China Academy of Civil Aviation Science and Technology (CAST) and Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department signed a Cooperation Arrangement on Strengthening Civil Aviation Science and Technology. The Civil Aviation Flight University and the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy reached a cooperation agreement on pilot cadets training and jointly obtained the CAD509 certification for flight training institutions issued by the HK CAD. Additionally, the CAAC Air Traffic Management Bureau, the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, and the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy reached new arrangements to further enhance air traffic management collaboration, improve operational efficiency, and promote integrated development.
Han Jun, Deputy Administrator of CAAC, attended the talks and the signing ceremony. The Hong Kong civil aviation delegation also visited the 3rd Exhibition of Technology and Education in Civil Aviation (ETECA) during their trip to Beijing.
