From September 16 to 18, 2025, the 13th Cross-Taiwan Strait Symposium on Flight Safety and Flight Technology was held in Tianjin, China. With the theme of "Pooling Cross-Taiwan Strait Wisdom to Lay the Foundation for Aviation Safety, and Studying Flight Technology to Empower Talents", the Symposium gathered over 100 representatives from airlines, universities and associations across the Taiwan Strait to exchange technologies and tighten the bond. Xiong Jie, Chief Pilot of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), participated the Symposium and delivered a speech.

First held in 1998, the Cross-Taiwan Strait Symposium on Flight Safety and Flight Technology represents the earliest-launched, most fruitful and influential exchange platform for the civil aviation industry across the Taiwan Strait. The Symposium of 2025 was co-hosted by Civil Aviation University of China and the Chinese Pilots Association of Taiwan. Participants conducted in-depth discussions and exchanged insights on topics such as "Human Factors and Flight Safety", "Safety Culture and New Technologies", "Flight Decision-Making and Risk Assessment", and "Team Collaboration and Communication Mechanisms". Thirteen pilots, experts and scholars from cross the strait shared their practices and views through thematic presentations.

Participants agreed that the civil aviation industries on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are like one family. Flight safety is the common pursuit of the civil aviation industry across the Taiwan Strait. In aviation safety management, both sides have similar practices and explorations in integrating modern management systems with fine traditional Chinese culture. The aviation industries on both sides of the Taiwan Strait should strengthen communication and exchanges, enhance mutual understanding and trust, work together to safeguard the blue sky, jointly ensure flight safety, promote high-quality development of civil aviation, and make greater contributions to improving the well-being of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
