The 10th China-US Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP) Airline Operations Safety Symposium was held in Xiamen on November 12-13. Liang Nan, Deputy Administrator of CAAC, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Approximately 200 representatives attended the event, including those from CAAC regional administrations, Chinese commercial airlines, Civil Aviation Management Institute of China, China Academy of Civil Aviation Science and Technology, Civil Aviation Flight University of China, CAAC Information Center, China Airline Pilots Association, as well as from ICAO, IATA, and companies and organizations such as Boeing, GE Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Jeppesen, Collins Aerospace, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, FedEx, and Atlas Air.
The meeting facilitated exchanges and discussions on topics including the development and implementation of the Aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS) and the innovative application of new technologies. The head of CAAC Flight Standard Department and the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Aircraft Projects & Customer Support at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, among others, delivered keynote speeches on the practices and prospects of flight standards and SMS development in China, and on strengthening aviation safety through cooperation, innovation, and continuous improvement. Representatives from Air China, Xiamen Airlines, Boeing, GE Aerospace, Delta Air Lines, and others gave presentations on data-driven safety, the application of EDR turbulence detection and forecasting products, SMS implementation data analysis, manufacturer SMS best practices, and improving SMS best practices through information sharing. Participants acknowledged that the long-term exchanges and mutual learning between China and the United States in aviation safety have benefited enterprises in both countries, served air passengers globally, and made significant contributions to the safe, efficient, and sustainable development of the worldwide aviation industry.
Launched in 2004, the ACP serves as an important channel and platform for exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States in civil aviation. Through ACP, the civil aviation industries of both countries have engaged in extensive exchanges and cooperation in areas such as aviation safety, flight standards, airworthiness certification, and aviation security. It has played a vital role in promoting the safe and healthy development of the aviation industries in both countries.
