Song Zhiyong Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Civil Aviation Frontline Staff26/02/2026
On February 17, the first day of the Year of the Horse on the Chinese lunar calendar, Beijing Capital International Airport was filled with festive and joyful atmosphere. The terminals bustled with travelers while staff members at various posts worked intensely yet orderly. Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Administrator Song Zhiyong visited frontline operational units at the airport to extend sincere greetings and New Year wishes on behalf of CAAC to the staff who remained at their posts during the Spring Festival holiday. CAAC Deputy Administrator Ma Bing accompanied the visit.
Song Zhiyong visited the Airport Operation Control Center and the West Air Traffic Control Tower to learn about overall airport operations during the holiday period, where he greeted staff on duty. He also met with flight crews and ground support personnel from airlines including Air China and Hainan Airlines, as well as staff working at information desks, security checkpoints, and other positions in the terminal. He expressed gratitude for their dedicated efforts on such occasion of family reunion and wished everyone vitality, dedication, good health, and family happiness in the Year of the Horse.
Song Zhiyong noted that in 2025, the civil aviation industry has thoroughly implemented the important instructions and directives of President Xi Jinping, earnestly carried out decisions and deployments from the Party Central Committee and the State Council, maintaining steady progress and positive momentum in development. Safety performance remained stable with continuous improvement, transportation volume grew steadily, with annual indicators including total transport turnover, passenger traffic, and cargo and mail throughput reaching new highs. Operational efficiency and service quality steadily improved, passenger travel experience was further enhanced, successfully concluding the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. Song noted that 2026 marks the beginning of the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. The entire industry should thoroughly implement President Xi's directives on civil aviation work, adhere to the safety-first development philosophy, and consistently prioritize safety operations. The industry should promote high-quality development, enhance flight operational quality and passenger service standards, advance comprehensive and deeper reforms. Efforts should be made to strengthen development momentum and vitality within the sector, reinforce political guidance and organizational support. He encouraged everyone to maintain high morale, demonstrate new commitment on the new journey, and strive for a strong start to the "15th Five-Year Plan" period.
Staff members expressed their dedication to work with renewed enthusiasm and determination, and showed their resolution to maintain constant vigilance over safety, work for further achievements in their respective positions, and contribute to the industry's high-quality development.
