On April 28, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) held the 2026 National Civil Aviation May Day Commendation and Model Workers' Lecture Launch Teleconference. The conference honored recipients of the National May Day Labor Awards, National May Day Labor Medals, National Workers' Pioneer Honors, and Civil Aviation Pioneer Awards within the civil aviation system, and launched the 2026 Civil Aviation Model Workers' Lecture campaign. Song Zhiyong, Administrator of the CAAC and Secretary of the CPC Group of CAAC attended and addressed the conference, along with Deputy Administrators Han Jun and Ma Bing.
In recognition of outstanding achievements and to set exemplary models, ahead of May Day 2026, upon the recommendation of the Civil Aviation Trade Union of China, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions awarded seven units in the civil aviation system the National May Day Labor Award, 11 individuals the National May Day Labor Medal, and 14 collectives the National Workers' Pioneer Honor. Additionally, the CAAC conducted a selection and publicity campaign approved by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, bestowing the title of Civil Aviation Pioneer upon nine individuals. The Conference read out the commendation decisions and held an award ceremony. Four representatives of model workers delivered speeches, and a representative of the National May Day Labor Medal recipients read out an initiative letter.
