On May 13, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) held the May Safety Committee (Expanded) Meeting. The Meeting further conveyed the recent important directives and instructions from central leaders on national work safety and civil aviation safety, thoroughly implemented the key safety arrangements of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, analyzed the current civil aviation safety situation, and outlined next steps for safety work. CAAC Administrator Song Zhiyong emphasized the need to closely integrate the in-depth study and implementation of President Xi Jinping's important remarks and directives with the education campaign on establishing and practicing a correct view of political performance. He called for further raising political awareness, strengthening responsibility, and effectively translating the outcomes of the education campaign into tangible results in preventing and mitigating major safety risks, ensuring "absolute safety in aviation operations and absolute safety of the people's lives," and better promoting high-quality development in the industry. CAAC Deputy Administrators Hu Zhenjiang, Han Jun, Ma Bing, and Liang Nan attended the Meeting.
