On June 22, CAAC Administrator Song Zhiyong met in Beijing with participants of the National Study Program for Senior Executives from the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department and civil aviation operators, for an in-depth discussion on high-quality development of China's civil aviation sector.

During the discussion, Song Zhiyong reviewed the achievements of China's civil aviation industry in pursuing high-quality growth since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the firm leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. He also outlined the strategies and initiatives to advance civil aviation undertakings in building a strong transportation country in the new era.

Song Zhiyong and the participants exchanged extensive views on topics of shared interest, including the development of international air transport and aviation hubs, integrated growth of the aviation industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, deeper participation of China civil aviation in global competition and cooperation, the development of domestically manufactured large passenger aircraft, and the application of artificial intelligence in civil aviation operations.

The one-week study program brings together 30 mid-to-senior executives from Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department and local aviation companies. It will help Hong Kong's civil aviation community gain a comprehensive, systematic and thorough understanding of the development landscape and direction of the country's civil aviation sector, further consolidating consensus to integrate into and serve the country's overall development agenda.
