The 2nd Civil Aviation Green Development Conference Successfully Held in Beijing15/11/2024
From November 8 to 9, the 2nd Civil Aviation Green Development Conference, themed “Jointly Promoting Energy Transition for Green Development,” was held in Beijing. The conference was organized by China Air Transport Association (CATA), aiming to fully and faithfully apply the new development philosophy on all fronts. It sought to leverage efficient, green and sustainable new productive forces as a new engine for economic growth, promote industrial upgrading, and support the national goals of emission peak and carbon neutrality. The conference actively aligned with the 14th Five-Year Plan for Civil Aviation Development and the 14th Five-Year Special Plan for Green Development of Civil Aviation, consolidating the achievements of the first Civil Aviation Green Development Conference. Han Jun, Deputy Administrator of CAAC, and Wang Changshun, Chairman of CATA, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Academicians He Kebin and Wang Hualin from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, along with officials from relevant departments of CAAC, delivered keynote speeches at the conference.

Over 400 participants from more than 240 organizations attended the conference, including representatives from departments and regional administrations of CAAC, major domestic airlines, support service providers, research institutions, aircraft manufacturing companies, financial and service enterprises, as well as international companies and research organizations. The delegates engaged in discussions through keynote speeches, professional seminars, and roundtable dialogues, focusing on topics such as the green development of civil aviation during the 14th Five-Year Plan, SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) policies and practices, pollution reduction and carbon reduction in civil aviation, and the outlook for global civil aviation emissions reduction. During the conference, CAAC issued an airworthiness certificate for SAF products to Shandong Sanju Bioenergy Co., Ltd., a company under Beijing Haixin Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Additionally, more than 10 universities, research institutes, and companies showcased new technologies and products related to the green development of civil aviation.
