Feng Zhenglin Meets with Indian and ROK Guests --

On January 30, CAAC Administrator Feng Zhenglin met with Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India, and Maeng Sung-kyu, Vice Minister of Transport at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, who were attending the Asia and Pacific (APAC) Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation here in Beijing.

During his meeting with Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Feng Zhenglin said, “China and India are close neighbors and India is a major country along the Belt and Road. We warmly welcome the participation of the Indian delegation in the APAC Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation. In recent years, due to more frequent economic and trade exchanges between China and India, there has been a rapid increase in the number of Chinese tourists travelling to India, which led to a continued expansion of the aviation market between the two countries, heightening pressure on the air transport industry. At present, as the existing air traffic rights arrangement between the two countries cannot keep up with the growing demand for air transport, it’s our hope that a new round of aviation talks will be held as soon as possible to further expand air traffic rights arrangement. CAAC wishes to further expand cooperation with India and other APAC countries to promote the healthy development of civil aviation in the region.”

Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati said, “Air transport narrowed the distance between the two countries. India and China has developed a good foundation for civil aviation cooperation. As demand for air transport between the two countries continues to increase, India encourages air transport enterprises from both sides to add more air routes, and agrees to hold aviation talks as soon as possible so as to meet the travel needs of the two peoples. At present, the development of civil aviation in the Asia Pacific region is facing some challenges. It is our hope that this APAC Ministerial Meeting on Civil Aviation can achieve good results and push forward the further development of civil aviation in the region.”

During his meeting with Maeng Sung-kyu, Feng Zhenglin said, “CAAC welcomes the participation of the delegation led by Meng Shengkui in the APAC Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation. China and South Korea are important air transport markets for each other. Both China and South Korea should push forward practical civil aviation cooperation between the two sides in such areas as air routes, flight operation, airport operation and route optimization, based on the principle of mutual respect, mutual benefit and win-win results.”

Maeng Sung-kyu said, “South Korea and China are close neighbors and the two countries have achieved good results from civil aviation cooperation. Due to continuous economy growth, there is a growing demand for air transport between the two countries. It is our hope that the air transport market between the two countries can be restored as soon as possible and cooperation can be further strengthened in air traffic control and other areas.”
