Beijing Daxing International Airport Holds the Fifth Full-Scale Test Run Before Its Coming into Operation10/09/2019

On August 30, the most comprehensive test run, also the fifth one, was held in Beijing Daxing International Airport before its coming into operation. CAAC Deputy Administrator Dong Zhiyi supervised the test run on site.

During this test run, 8,868 simulated passengers with 5,600 baggage departed from the departure hall on the third and fourth floor of Daxing Airport, and they tested eight main procedures by going through normal processes such as check-in, baggage check-in, security check, customs declaration, border control, waiting, boarding and baggage claim after arrival. The test run involved a total of 129 items, including aircraft arrival and departure, service for international arrival and departure passengers, domestic arrival and departure baggage handling, public transport service for passengers as well as cargo arrival and departure, covering all areas of the terminal. The test run opened 4 runways, 208 check-in counters, 42 baggage carousels, 51 boarding gates and 31 security checkpoints. At the same time, peak hour pressure tests were carried out from 11:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 14:00, which covered 50 and 60 arrival and departure flights respectively.

The test run of air-rail transit link was added for the first time. Simulated passengers tested eight items in Caoqiao Station of Daxing Airport subway line, such as check-in, baggage check-in, and baggage security screening. 4 check-in counters, including one international and three domestic counters, and 2 security checkpoints in Caoqiao Station were opened for the test run, and the subway operated at an interval of 8.5 minutes.

The test run also recruited nearly 200 disabled passengers from Daxing District of Beijing as well as Anci District and Guangyang District of Langfang City to test the obstacle-free items designed for disabled passengers in Daxing Airport.
