On May 11, New HNA Capital Airlines held a press conference at the Embassy of Portugal in China to announce the launch of its new international route from Beijing Daxing to Lisbon. The route will begin operations on June 22, with the service running weekly, every Monday. As the first non-stop intercontinental route from Beijing Daxing to Lisbon, this new service marks the third "capital-to-capital" air corridor established by New HNA Capital Airlines, following the Beijing Daxing–Colombo and Beijing Daxing–Malé routes. It represents a critical step forward in the airline's efforts to advance the "Belt and Road" Initiative and enhance its intercontinental network in Europe.
The Beijing Daxing–Lisbon route is Capital Airlines' second non-stop China–Portugal route. Together with the already well-established Hangzhou–Lisbon route, the two services will create a north–south synergy and a dual-hub linkage, enabling direct flights from both the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region and the Yangtze River Delta to Lisbon. This will further strengthen the China–Portugal intercontinental aviation network. The new route will effectively fill the gap in non-stop capacity from the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region to Lisbon, significantly reducing travel time and transfer costs for passengers. It will provide solid support for economic and trade exchanges, cultural interaction, and tourism cooperation between China and Portugal, contributing to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative between the two countries.
